iPhone 12 Pro Pentalobe Replacement
This document provides instructions for detaching or substituting the two screws that fasten the iPhone 12 Pro display panel in place.These fasteners represent the sole external screws present on the device's exterior.Due to their distinctive five-point geometry, Apple utilizes these screws, necessitating the use of a specialized P2 pentalobe driver for their removal.
Step 1 | Remove the pentalobe screws
Prior to commencing the repair, ensure the iPhone's battery level drops below 25% to mitigate fire or explosion hazards associated with damaged lithium-ion cells.To prevent potential hazards, completely eliminate any dust accumulation from the iPhone's exterior surface before starting the disassembly process.
- Using a specialized screwdriver, unscrew and remove the pair of pentalobe screws, each measuring 6.75 mm in length, located along the iPhone's lower edge.
- Separating the display assembly from the iPhone body will irreversibly damage the device's water resistance capabilities.
