iPhone 13 Pro Pentalobe Screws Replacement

This document provides instructions for detaching or substituting the two screws that hold the iPhone 13 Pro display assembly in place. These fasteners represent the sole external screws present on the iPhone's chassis and incorporate a distinctive five-point geometry necessitating an Apple-specific P2 pentalobe driver for disassembly.Due to their unique five-point configuration, standard screwdriver types are incompatible; a specialized P2 pentalobe driver is essential for successfully removing these screws.

Step 1 | Remove the pentalobe screws

Prior to commencing repairs, ensure the iPhone's battery level drops below 25% to mitigate fire or explosion hazards resulting from accidental puncture of the lithium-ion cell.Thoroughly clean any dust or debris from the iPhone's exterior surfaces to prevent scratching or damage during the disassembly process.
  • Using appropriate tools, unscrew and remove the pair of pentalobe P2 screws, each measuring 6.8 mm in length, located along the iPhone’s lower edge.
  • Separating the iPhone’s display assembly from the chassis will irreversibly damage the device's water resistance capabilities.
To maintain water resistance, either acquire and install replacement waterproof seals before proceeding beyond the display separation stage or exercise extreme caution to prevent liquid ingress during reassembly if seals are not replaced.
