To avoid injury and contain shattered fragments while repairing a cracked display glass, secure it with tape.
Apply clear packing tape across the iPhone screen, ensuring each strip overlaps the previous one to completely protect the display surface.
To prevent glass fragments from scattering and maintain stability during the display separation process, this step is crucial.
To safeguard your eyes from potential glass fragments released during the repair process, always use safety glasses.

Step 2 | Display Assembly

Step 2 image
Using a Phillips #00 screwdriver, detach the two screws securing the dock connector.

Step 3

Step 3 image
For improved handling and safety, detach the metal handle from the suction cup; gripping the suction cup's base directly provides a more secure hold.
Exercise extreme caution during disassembly to prevent damage to the delicate display cables.
A black display assembly is sealed to the silver front bezel by a rubber gasket, and disassembling these components necessitates applying moderate pressure.
Carefully lift the lower edge of the display assembly by applying gentle upward force with a suction cup positioned close to the Home button.
When the display assembly's surface prevents a secure suction cup attachment due to damage, secure the area with a robust adhesive tape, like duct tape, as an alternative.

Step 4

Step 4 image
Before completely separating the display assembly from the iPhone, be aware that multiple cables maintain the connection and attempting to do so prematurely could cause damage.
Tilt the display assembly upwards, achieving roughly a 45-degree angle.

Step 5

Step 5 image
Using one hand to secure the display assembly, employ a spudger with your other hand to carefully detach the ribbon cable identified as "1."

Step 6

Step 6 image
Position the display assembly so it stands approximately perpendicular.
Removing the component provides improved clearance to facilitate disconnection of the remaining cables.
Carefully detach the ribbon cable identified with the label "2" using a spudger.

Step 7

Step 7 image
Carefully lift the black plastic retaining tab, which secures the ribbon cable, using a spudger.
Rotating the tab 90 degrees will disengage the ribbon cable.
Exercise caution when manipulating the tab, as it is susceptible to damage; lift it gently to release the cable and lower it with care to secure it.
Certain iPhone models feature a white plastic tab, differing from the standard black color.
Carefully disconnect the ribbon cable from its receptacle, then detach the display assembly from the iPhone.

Step 8 | Earpiece Speaker

Step 8 image
Using a Phillips head screwdriver, size #00, detach the single screw securing the display assembly at its corner.

Carefully lift the right ear speaker cover assembly by inserting the flat edge of a spudger beneath its right side.
Avoid complete separation; the assembly remains affixed via two connections.
Employ the pointed end of the spudger to release the two clips that hold the assembly's top in place.
After releasing the retaining clips, raise the cover assembly vertically away from the device.

Step 10

Using a spudger, carefully insert its tip into the gap located beneath the ear speaker’s upper right corner, then apply slight upward pressure.
Exercise caution; the speaker's upper section is prone to separation from its lower half, potentially releasing the internal coil. Ensure the complete unit is lifted during the prying process.
Carefully raise the ear speaker, disengaging it from its housing, to remove it from the device.
